Estabilished in the South West for 75 years

Hewaswater Engineering was established in 1947 by Bill Lobb. Working from a small unit at one end of the present site, he provided engineering products and solutions for the surrounding agriculture and quarrying businesses.

The business grew steadily over the next 30 years until, in 1984 Bill announced his retirement and asked his friend Mike James if he wished to buy the company. Mike agreed and set about further expanding the business and over the next two decades he carried on working with the same industries but looked at structural steelwork as another sector to be explored.

Under his leadership further expansions and heavy investment in new production equipment have seen Hewaswater Enginnering develop into the largest manufacturer of structural steel in Cornwall, operating to CE marking execution class 3.

This does not mean that the business has lost sight of its roots. It continues to supply all manner of bespoke products and services to the agricultural, mining and quarrying sectors. The new process facility and machinery opens further doors for Hewaswater and they look forward to the next 70 years!
